Senior Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a construction accounting environment is required. Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; accounting disciplines of general ledger; subsidiary ledgers-accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and job cost
• Experience with Sage 300 CRE accounting software preferred
• Previous managerial experience is a plus.


The Senior Accountant is responsible for the general ledger and the monthly financial reporting.
General Ledger and Financial Reporting
• Prepare and review standard and non-standard journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliation’s necessary to close the Company’s books
• Prepare and review all joint venture financials and journal entries
• Prepare the monthly financial statements
• Assist in the annual audit of the Company’s books with the independent auditors

Accounts Payable
• Assist in reviewing checks and supporting documentation for accuracy, coding and proper authorization
• Payroll
• Review the bi-weekly Sage 300 payroll edit reports and journals for accuracy
• Review payroll tax deposits that are transmitted to the appropriate tax jurisdictions – federal and state
• Review the monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns – federal, state & unemployment returns

Accounts Receivable
• Review the entering of requisitions to the owners (accounts receivable, retainage Receivable and contract revenue) into Sage 300 system.
• Review the entering of job and miscellaneous cash receipts into the Sage 300 system
• Review the issuance of the Contract Receivable Report, which is issued to Controller, CFO, President, Vice President and Project Managers
• Review the monthly billings to various joint ventures/affiliated partners and associated schedules

Job Cost
• Review selected work of the project accountants who input change orders, back charges, award analyses and projected adjustments into the Sage 300 system
• Review monthly job cost reports before they are released to management

• Assist and implement the annual budgeting process for the Company

• Assist the Controller in the maintenance and creation of all company Sage 300 reports
• Attend as assigned all in-house and external training programs
• Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise
• Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
