Accounting Manager

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business discipline and 6-8 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
• Master’s and/or CPA certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and government accounting regulations (CAS and FAR)
• Experience supervising accounting staff
• Able to make decisions quickly and appropriately
• Demonstrated experience working with account reconciliation, financial reporting and internal controls
• Experience supporting audit requests
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, strongly desired
• Knowledge of Microsoft software and other software applications as required


In this position you will supervise and perform various accounting processes necessary to maintain the company’s financial reporting and records in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CAS/FAR laws and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable staff and functions, which includes ensuring timely processing and payment of vendor invoices, monthly rent payments, payments to owners and tax authorities and general accounting activities
• Manage time and expense staff and function, which includes ensuring timely submission and processing of labor, leave and expense reports
• Manage cash application staff and function
• Prepare and analyze certain account reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Review account reconciliations for accuracy and ensure adjustments are recorded on a timely basis
• Provide leadership, coaching and management to a team of professionals including responsibility for employment, termination, performance, salary reviews, development and training.
• Ensure all account reconciliations are performed on a regular basis which includes collaborating with business unit accounting and finance to ensure their account reconciliations are done
• Review accounting information provided to government compliance department for accuracy
• Assist in reviewing and analyzing monthly financial reports
• Prepare analysis and reports for tax and audit purposes
• Prepare and review month-end closing procedures including journal entries
• Develop and initiate process improvements where needed
• Provide and review audit support for annual audit of financial statements
• Coach and train staff
• Draft and/or edit accounting policies and desk procedures
• Travel to other Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
• Understand and adhere to all Ethical and Compliance policies
• Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as required
• If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position.
