Sales Commissions Manager

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting strongly preferred
• Must have at least 5 plus years sales compensation experience, preferably in the technology industry
• Experience with Xactly
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; ability to analyze complex business problems and make sound business decisions
• Highly proficient at creating elegant, efficient, and effective compensation and financial models, budgets, and reports and enthusiastic to train others to do the same – expert proficiency in MS Excel including pivot tables, complex formulas, lookup functions, etc
• Experience working in high-growth, performance focused environments and administering complex programs
• Strong, effective and tactful communications skills
• Ability to manage confidential information
• Ability to take initiative, work flexibly, and set priorities with minimal direct supervision
• Strong analytical skills, disciplined attention to detail, highly organized and thorough
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines


Our client conducting a search for a Sales Commissions Manager position based in our US Headquarters office in Ashburn, Virginia. This position is responsible for administering and maintaining sales compensation plans for the sales team and managing the monthly payment of commissions due. This includes preparing statements and monthly reports for the account executives and advisors and providing monthly reports to management. In this position the individual communicates with Finance, Sales Operations, Human Resources, all levels of sales management, and senior management.

• Administer all finance-related aspects of our variable compensation and commission plans for the company’s rapidly growing sales individuals located Worldwide including developing and maintaining commissions model and monthly commissions calculation
• Participate in the development or construction of annual commission plans along with quotas that is led by Sales Operations to ensure feasibility of commission calculations along with value added feedback
• Work with Accounting and Payroll teams to communicate and process monthly commission payments accurately and on time
• Administer and manage day to day operations of our commission calculation process to ensure accuracy of all commissions related data in our corporate ERP system and reconcile with Salesforce CRM and Xactly
• Track, research and resolve commission calculation-related inquiries and exceptions including disputes and appeals
• Work closely with Human Resources and Sales Operations to understand commission plans, new hire offers including non-standard terms, leave of absences, and terminations
• Generate and distribute commission statements and management reports
• Partner with all departments in accurately tracking all headcount changes including hires, terminations, transfers, and backfills
• Test the commission system to ensure the system can handle commission calculations for various company changes.
• Effectively communicate with various levels of management, responding to inquiries from the sales force and sales management.
• Serve as system administrator of the Xactly Incent solution
• Maintenance of the Xactly Incent Solution
